Ficha Téchnica Reducida
When importing and registering your vehicle in Spain you will require either the original Certificate of Conformity which was delivered with the car when purchased new, or the Spanish equivalent called a Ficha Téchnica Reducida.
You will also require a Ficha Téchnica Reducida if your vehicle meets one or more of the following criteria:
- Your vehicle is equipped with a tow bar / package (Installed by the manufacturer or an aftermarket product)
- Your vehicle has rims or tyres mounted that are not listed in the CoC
- Your vehicle has other modifications installed that are not listed in the CoC (Window tint, bullbar, etc)
For a fast and easy completion of your Ficha Téchnica, be sure to know where to find the following information on your vehicle:
- VIN Number locations. (The VIN number is located in 2 areas on every EU vehicle. Stickers and labels are NOT valid.
- The European Type Approval number. (European Type Approved vehicles are recognizable by the European Type Approval Number mentioned right under the manufacturer’s name on the manufacturer’s plate/label. The European Type Approval number starts with the letter “e” followed by a one or two digit country code number (e.g. “e4” or “e13”) and a combination of number segments which are separated by asterisk (*) and slash (/) separator / delimiter characters (e.g. e13*2001/116*0260).)
- The European Type Approval number will also be located on aftermarket products such as tow bars and rims.
- Tyre dimensions. (Located and easily visible on the side of the tyre)
